The AEW World Championship was up for grabs on Dynamite as Swerve Strickland defended against Undisputed Kingdoms Roderick Strong.
Both men exchanged holds and submissions in the early going, but it was Strickland who gained the advantage with a belly-to-belly suplex. Strong battled back and delivered three gut-busting powerbombs, but Strickland kicked out at two.
The climax came when Strickland hit a Phoenix splash off the top rope. Strong kicked out at 2.99, but Strickland was able to lock in the JML Driver for the victory.
